Brief history of the famous Walther Guns... In 1886 Carl Walther opened a weapons workshop in Zella-Mehlis, a traditional site of many German factories. The considerable popularity of the new weapons inspired Walther and his son Fritz to create in 1909 their own automatic pistol. In 1929 Walther created the first double-action gun, the Polizei Pistol (PP). In 1931 a shorter model was produced, the Polizei Pistol Kriminal (Walther PPK). These two pistols were enormously successful, and a legend was born!
